From the School's beginning to today, dedication to the principle of 'Learning to Learn' continues as our motto. INTRODUCTION This School is a registered and accredited private multi campus School established to provide a quality education to the New Zealand community and, in particular, to Brethren students. The School is conducted in accordance with the doctrines, and teachings of the Holy Bible as held, believed, taught and practised by the Brethren. All Staff are required to respect the Ethos, Values Statement and Guiding Principles and not influence, or seek to influence, students as to these doctrines, tenets and teachings.
At this School, students are encouraged to develop their full potential and acquire the discipline of learning how to learn, while upholding Christian teachings and beliefs. The Guiding Principles of this School are based on the teachings of the Holy Bible as accepted, believed, interpreted, taught and practised by the Brethren. The School is committed to creating and delivering learning programs the meet the educational needs of each student, and to nurture the attitudes and skills necessary for continual learning and personal growth throughout life. He is a Magic Weaver par excellence, recognised as such by students, parents and staff.
He goes above and beyond to ensure that students have opportunities to develop to their full potential. She has been a huge support to the English Department, working with students and new staff at an individual level to ensure quality teaching and learning is happening. A former school principal, Den has served our community at Kaipara for around eight years, teaching in the middle school area. The Learning to Learn Award is for a member of staff that identifies and develops students within the Learning to Learn framework, encouraging them to take responsibility as Self Directed Learners.
In her role as a member of the Curriculum Leadership Team for English, she has encouraged positive dialogue to challenge learning norms and provided a forum for discussion around learning potential in English for Year 9 10 and in the Senior years. She builds outstanding learning relationships and always goes the extra mile to ensure students are supported. Mr Hamilton has been very helpful by offering extra tuition every week, through the use of technology. The Westmount national student leadership team has come up with the bright idea to fundraise for Saint Johns, with the idea being that we can pool all of our funds together nationally, and give a truly outstanding donation to this worthy cause.
If anyone is struggling to collect the 60, we encourage them to talk to one of the year 13’s so we can brainstorm ideas together. A responsible outlook in relation to humanity is encouraged in our students and through the School's Current Affairs program understanding is enhanced as to events that have ramifications on a local, national and global scale. We are conservative in the sense that we uphold strong Christian values and beliefs yet progressive in our capacity to deliver a single school approach across multiple campuses, and in the methods we employ to teach our curriculum. Hundreds of families, covered around 20km of Taranaki coastline from New Plymouth through to Wanganui, and collected 330 bags of rubbish.
By Year 13, the self directed learning process has well prepared students for the challenges and responsibilities of adult life. Here, students are able to reach their individual potentials thanks to small classes with high quality teachers and a protective environment. The heart of each school is the Learning Centre, where students have all the resources they need to progress their learning. During the early 1990s a number of Christian parents who were members of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church worked together to develop approved educational facilities that catered for students from years seven to twelve. This progress has continued with the School now having extended learning programs to encompass primary and secondary levels.
